The Collectors' International Fair
 Between
the 30th -31st of March took place, at the famous exposition
hall World Trade Plaza from within the World Trade Center
Bucharest, the second edition of the International Collectors'
Fair organized by the Romanian Philatelic Federation.
This great collector's event of the year had the participation
of over 400 private persons or profile firms, from the
country and from abroad who had transacted postal stamps,
illustrated cards, medals, coins, decorations, value
titles, rare books, jewelry, paintings, statues and
collector's weapons.
The new edition, with certainty was, the collector's
event most awaited, raising a great interest...

About a series of illustrated postal cards (i.p.c.) less known due to its rarity; the enigma of the pair of numbers mentioned on each one.
 The
destiny of these i.p.c. was less fortunate for collectors
because they have survived after three quarters of a
century in very small numbers, this and due to the fact
that they had practically a one way circulation, Romania
- Germany, very few of them returning to our country.
The interest for these is all the greater since they
reveal subjects such as street scenes, marginal neighborhood
corners, many long gone and other subjects that reveal
precious information over the image of the city of Bucharest
of long ago.
These i.p.c. have attracted my attention a long time
ago, but it was very difficult for me to collect a more
important quantity...

"Patched" postage stamps
 ...The
patch is a "piece with which you can mend broken
or torn objects". I chose the term "patched"
to characterize the rare stamps that have been printed
on a portion of paper with which have been mended some
defected sheets that were to be printed, over -printed
or fringed. The Romanian post, known at least for the
modern period as being very stingy, not throwing anything
that could have been used, even if the results are al
least controversial. Going over to examples, which we
have named "patched"...

Philately on the Internet (II)
 ...Study
pages (the underlining has its purpose) of Romanian
philately, namely SPECIALIZED ROMANIA COLLECTORS PAGE!!,
presented on the Web by mister Mats Bluckert from Sweden
(e-mail: mats.bluckert@swipnet.se). The page address
is: http://user.tninet.se/"yep690c/rom/rom/htm, this
being the one through which you reach most specialized
sections. Also, some of the sections can be accessed
separately on other addresses, which will be indicated
at the respective places. First from the main page (last
update taking place on the 22nd of January 2002), can
be accessed a short study section over the heroes of
the wheat stalk stamps, that tries to establish, with
the collectors' help, the cliché errors (with fixed
position on the sheet). The greater part of the materials
from this site is structured on many sections, as follows...

The secrets of paper
 For
many of our peers, the postage stamps are small pieces
of sticky paper, that have to be applied on correspondence,
face up mandatory! It was sufficient the appearance
of the first philatelist for things to get complicated.
That's how it was discovered that the postage stamp
is fringed! Fringes that appeared somewhat later, as
well as the imprinting in many colors or on different
supports, not to mention the paper, which in itself
is of tens and tens of different types: white, gray,
colored, with specks, with silk threads, coated, fluorescent,
war type, with filigree, etc., etc. But, not to confuse
you completely, lets treat in this lecture some of the
secrets of the postage stamp paper. The paper on which
are printed most of the stamps...
