125 de ani de la Proclamarea Independentei
de Stat a Romaniei
(1877-2002)
Organized with the occasion of the 125th
anniversary of the Romanian State Independence Proclamation,
"The Philatelic Saloon Bucharest - 2002" opened
its gates on the 9th of May 2002 in the central lobby
of the Romanian History National Museum. Here has gathered
some of the most famous philatelic collections from all
over the country and were on display until the 19th of
May 2002. Also, at the Romanian Post stand, were available
the new issues of postal wholes, the postage sheet issued
for this occasion and advertising stamps "Documents
of Independence". The exposition was organized within
the "Philatelic Saloon Bucharest 2002" manifestations,
being hosted inside the Bucharest City History Museum.
In the exposition's opening program on the 17th of May
2002, the prize-giving ceremony of the Saloon presented
exponents took place.
JURY REPORT
The jury of the
"Philatelic Saloon Bucharest 2002" made up of Razvan
Popescu - president, Gheorghe Cotolan, Mircea Doman,
Mircea
Gheorghe, Emanoil Savoiu and
Ioan Stanescu Stanescu - members as well as Emil
Stanciu - secretary, observe with satisfaction the
quality level of the exponents presented, the smallest
distinction awarded being the diploma with the rank
of silver medal. Of the 43 exponents registered
in the exposition catalogue, the exponents not on
display were
those belonging to Mihai Ceuca (Bacau), Dragos
Costache (Bucharest), Corneliu Milica-Rafalet (Bucharest)
and Oana Opriceanu (Craiova). Analyzing the exponents,
the jury decided: Withdrawal from the contest of
three exhibits belonging to members of the jury
or their relatives: "Protect the forest from fire"
- Mircea Gheorghe, "United and dignified in the
motherland" - Maria Cotolan, "Types and Bucharest
faces" - Serban Dragusanu; Moving to the open category
of the exhibit "Awake Romanian" (Dan Petre); Moving
to the card-collecting class of the exhibit "The
Nile, pyramids and Egyptians" (Cornel Lazar); In
the literature class was presented and registered
the "Philately" magazine, not included in the catalogue.

A. Diploma with the rank of gold medal:
- Dumitru Dumitru (Bucharest) for the exhibit "Armbands, postal stamps and newspaper stamps",
- Adriana Luminita Predescu (Ploiesti) for the exhibit "Romania 1872 - 1910",
- Constantin Milu (Ploiesti) for the exhibit "1869 - 1936 Olympic Games",
